On a sunny April day in 1931 something unbelievable happened. A 17 year old young woman from Chattanooga Tennessee struck out two of the greatest New York Yankees of all time: Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig one after the other in an exhibition game between the Chattanooga Lookouts and the Yankees. Jackie Mitchell was signed by Joe Engel, the “P.T. Barnum of Baseball” to a contract with the Lookouts. Her legend has been surrounded by controversy for years. Did Jackie really strike out The Sultan of Swat and The Iron Horse that day, or was it just a stunt? Jackie’s story is truly unbelievable!

A six episode limited series inspired by actual events

She struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig…that was the easy part. From the dusty streets of early 20th century Tennessee rose a force to be reckoned with in a teenage female baseball pitcher who struck out Murder’s Row in one inning. The story that led to it and the controversy that followed are just like her, unbelievable.
